It's currently 3:08 am. My alarm is set to go off at 4:20 am. But, here I am....wide awake. I left the bed so I wasn't tossing and turning and keeping Mark awake. I moved to the couch to try the Grey's Anatomy method - I've named it that. The fact that I've seen the early seasons of Grey's so many times that I'm comfortable sleeping to them. It didn't work.
I'm excited, and anxious. Curious and wondering if I have everything packed that I need.
I hope so. And, if not. I'll buy it in Florida.
Yes, we, Aiden and I, are off to Florida. His first big trip, and we're taking it in the midst of a global pandemic. I've had a few people give me the side eye when I've told them that we're traveling for Spring Break. But, I've taken all the necessary precautions. I have hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes, and disposable masks. We won't eat on the plane, but will wait until we get to the airport(s) and will find a quiet place to hide and eat.
I'm excited for Aiden's first big adventure. His first flight, his first time in Florida, his first time seeing the ocean. I'm excited to see his reaction to all that is about to unfold in front of him. So, maybe that's why I'm awake an hour before my alarm is set to go off.
Marquette to Chicago, Chicago to Charlotte, Charlotte to Orlando, car rental and then off to our sweet cottage in New Smyrna Beach. Sun, sand, palm trees, and peace.
Just what this Mama and her mind needs.
See you when we get back!
